Out now: along rivers, forever adrift.
Today is a very special day, because it marks the release of my first music album since 2020.
along rivers, forever adrift, is the culmination of the work I did during music making weeks, polished up, tied together into a continuous mix, and mastered to sound great on your favourite pair of headphones.
along rivers, forever adrift, is a mixture of styles and inspirations. It takes you through spacious ambiences, nostalgic soundscapes, and lovely little melodies, influenced by the likes of Kettel, Secede, The Flashbulb, C418, Disasterpeace. Yet there’s still something unique. A part of me.
I already briefly mentioned this on its Bandcamp page, but making this album made me smile and cry way too often. It’s a labour of love, and I hope it can make you feel something beautiful, as much as it did for me.
A while ago, back in June 2022, I made a song called on uncertainty for Dad. It was the first time he’d heard my music in a while, and I was happy to hear him say this song sounds like something that could go on the radio.
I cherish these words greatly.
While making this album, each day I managed to make a song that sounded “radio-worthy,” I felt like the happiest, most fulfilled person on Earth.
Making a song a day was absolutely magical, and did wonders on the quality of my music. Suddenly, I felt like my creativity bloomed, my production skills were unshackled, and I was making more of those radio-worthy songs than I could ever imagine.
I was no longer some bloke who makes music from time to time.
For just a brief moment… I felt like a real musician.
For some time already, I didn’t have faith I could be great at anything else than writing computer programs. This album changed my mind.
It’s good to know I can find happiness in something other than programming.
Thank you for reading this far.
If I didn’t manage to convince you to take a listen, here’s my last attempt: this album is like taking the best out of ambient, hip-hop, chiptune, idm, and jazz, and smashing them together into an emotional journey of self-discovery along rivers, mountains, forests, beaches, tea fields, wetlands.
You can buy the album exclusively from Bandcamp, in delicious lossless FLAC quality.
I promise you won’t regret it.
